NEW DELHI: Micromax's sub-brand Yu Televentures has launched its latest flagship smartphone Yu Yunicorn. Priced at Rs 12,999, the smartphone will be exclusively available on ecommerce website Flipkart for a month. The smartphone will first go on sale on June 7 and after one month its will be availble for Rs 14,999. The smartphone will come in Rush Silver and Graphite colour options. Yu Yunicorn also has a limited-edition version which comes in Rush Gold colour.The device runs on runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), which the company is calling 'Android on Steroids'. It comes with Around Yu 2.0 , the upgraded version of the service aggregator platform introduced last year. The new software of the company offers some minor changes like a vertical app drawer and a monochrome mode for checking extending battery life. Along with this, the smartphone will soon receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade. As for specifications, the Yu Yunicorn features a 5.5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) resolution Full HD IPS display. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It offers 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further using a micro-SD card. The smartphones comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front snapper for selfies. The connectivity options in the device include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor and Dolby Audio support for better audio experience. the device is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. The company is also offering Rs 400 in the Yu Wallet with the devic and the first consultation free on Lybrate. The first flash sale will also give a 10 percent of cashback to SBI users.
