HTC unveils Rs.52990 flagship smartphone in India

While the HTC 10 has been priced a little higher than anticipated at Rs 52,990, the HTC One X9 will be available for Rs 25,990; nearly half the price of the HTC 10.

HTC 10 Lifestyle version will also be launched in India along with HTC 10 but its price will be announced later.

Siddiqui says the six phones that HTC launched on Thursday are at different price points and cater to different segments. After several rumors and leaks, the One X9 was officially launched in China in December a year ago and now, nearly after five months after making it available in China, HTC has finally launched it in the Indian market. The display corners with gorilla glass on a curved edge with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Quad Core 2.2GHz.

On the camera front, HTC has integrated a 12 MP Ultrapixel camera on the rear of the device, while the front camera comes as 5MP autofocus lens. It comes with 32GB on-board storage which can be expanded up to 2TB using MicroSD card.

Hoping to better the mild response in India to their last flagship smartphone, HTC, the Taiwan based phone manufacturer, unveiled their latest flagship smartphone, the HTC 10 in New Delhi today.

The HTC 10 Lifestyle, Desire 630, and Desire 830 prices have not been revealed as of now.

The HTC One X9 runs on a MediaTek Helio X10 system on chip and features a 5.5 inches wide full HD/1080p display. In terms of connectivity, it has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz) support for Chromecast, AirPlay, and Miracast. It further includes features such as BSI sensor and optical image stabilization. All this is backed up by a 3000mAh battery.

"What we tried to do.is to get the best of both worlds", said Nigel Newby-House, HTC's associate vice president for product planning in North America. It packs a 2,200mAh battery without any details about talktime. HTC Desire 628 comes with HD screen and 3GB RAM.

At the beginning of this decade, HTC was a dominant force in the global smartphone arena with over 20 percent market share. Apart from the company's official store, it seems that the Indians will be able to buy the device from retailer Mahesh Telecom as well. For optics the device is loaded with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera.

The Desire 825 sports a 5.5-inch HD display along with a Snapdragon 400 processor, paired with 2GB RAM.
