The upcoming OnePlus flagship smartphone – OnePlus 3 – design is already out in purported press render image, and now company's CEO Pete Lau took on Chinese microblogging website Weibo teasing that the 'OP3 feels good to hold'. Previously, he had shared a camera sample of the OP3 on Weibo too.
As for now, the OnePlus 3 launch is rumoured for May 28, but there is no official word as yet and we are expecting company to send invites early next week. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had previously confirmed that the upcoming flagship will feature a 'new design,' and will launch by the end of Q2 2016, which also coincides with the rumored date. Having said that, OnePlus has the history of missing deadlines too, so it is possible that the OP3 launch date shifts further.
The purported press image leak earlier this week by @evleaks, suggests that OnePlus 3 will boasts of a metal unibody design. It also shows the USB Type-C port on the bottom along with the 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grill. OnePlus retains the three stage alert slider hardware toggle from the OnePlus 2, which is present on the left side. It doesn't show Laser auto focus on the back and it seems to use single LED flash. Although the camera sensor appears a little bigger to us and we are guessing that OnePlus can go Samsung way in the camera department, just like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
According to one of the leak, OnePlus will come with a AMOLED display and is likely to be backed by a 3000mAh battery, which is 300mAh less compared to 3300mAh battery on the existing flagship OnePlus 2.
OnePlus 3 rumored specifications
For the price of OnePlus 3, it is rumored to be priced at 1999 yuan (US$ 307 / Rs. 20435) for the 4GB RAM and 32GB storage version and 2499 yuan (US$ 384 / Rs. 25550) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version.
