The rumor mill is working double time with Alcatel's alleged upcoming smartphones. It started with a rendered image of a bigger variant, then a GFXBench result surfaced, and now, it is said that there will also be a smaller version. Unlike the current Idol 4S that is running the latest Android software, Blass claims that the new Idol 4S Pro will be powered by the new Windows 10 Mobile and it will only be a variant of the Android-powered Idol 4S. It is also rumored to be packing a 3,000 mAh batter and will be Windows 10 Continuum-ready.
Besides that single spec (plus an identically capacious 3000mAh battery), the Pro is superior in almost all departments, from its processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 versus Snapdragon 652) to its memory configuration (4GB/64GB RAM/ROM versus 3GB/32GB) to its camera resolution (21MP/8MP main/selfie versus 16MP/8MP).
Blass posted the render via his Twitter account. But the Idol 4 and Idol 4S are only two of an expected four Idol-branded dev ices that the company is planning in 2016. The only difference will be the fact that it will be advertised as Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10, while the Android version will be sold as Alcatel Idol 4S.
Other listed features include a 20MP camera for photos and videos, a 9MP front-facing camera, and 64GB of internal storage on board.
There is no date of when the Alcatel Idol 4S will be launched, but when it does, it will be the company's second device to run on the new Windows 10 after the OneTouch Fierce XL that costs a mere $139.99 on T-Mobile. "As for the Idol 4 Pro, it is touted to share the design cues of the Android-powered Alcatel Idol 4S, where it will sport a metal chassis, a 5.5" AMOLED display at Full HD resolution which should go some way in preserving the battery life.
The cameras are rumored to be at 13MP for the main and 5MP for the secondary.
Alcatel has not confirmed any of these specifications.
Obama arrives in Bariloche on his final day in ArgentinaOn the ground, there were outlines of bodies drawn in chalk - like a crime scene - as symbols of victims of the dictatorship. Speaking not just of Argentina, Obama condemned any action of the US government that did not hold human rights as a priority.
