Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge waterproof flagship smartphones launched at MWC

The feature is an extension of the night clock on the Galaxy S6 Edge.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a resistance rating of IP68, meaning they can survive 30 minutes in water to a depth of 1.5 metres.

The new Galaxy S7 models feature several upgrades that Samsung hopes will give them a leg up on competitors like Apple.

The smartphones, featuring sleek design and advanced camera features, are expected to hit the Indian market in the second week of March, according to sources. For now, you'll have to settle for up to 200GB, in addition to the 32GB or 64GB of storage space that comes with the device.

Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Gear 360, an eyeball-shaped dual lens camera capable of capturing 360 degree, virtual reality-compa tible videos, at the Mobile World Congress on Sunday in Barcelona. The new camera has an f/1.7 aperture and is much better at shooting in low light - some who've gotten to play with it already say it beats the iPhone 6s handily. Samsung gave the S7 Edge a bigger display - 5.5-inches - without increasing the size of the phone significantly. But there are more differences that were not declared earlier.

The S7 also includes an always-on display, which means that when the device is in standby, it will display a clock or your calendar or a screen saver. "It has a 5.5" QHD Super AMOLED curved display that delivers crisp graphics.
