At an event right before Mobile World Congress kicked off in Barcelona, Spain, Samsung announced two new additions to its smartphone lineup: the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Samsung was slated when it removed the MicroSD Card slot from the Galaxy S6 and it seems the Korean tech firm has listened to its critics. Frankly, not that much, but what Samsung did change might put a smile on your face.
LG is also making a 360-degree camera and a spherical robot camera that resembles the BB-8 droid in the new "Star Wars" movie. However, with the inclusion of some previously missing features, Samsung might go beyond the 38 million sales mark with its Galaxy S7 models.
Meanwhile, the Canadian carrier TELUS has assured its subcribers that the Android Marshamallow will start rolling out on March 9 for Galaxy S6 edge Plus and Note 5 owners, according to an article from Neurogadget.
With the launch of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Sprint is introducing the Galaxy Forever program, similar to its iPhone Forever program, which launched with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Both phones feature 4GB of RAM and come equipped with QHD Super AMOLED display.
All four carries are offering the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge at full retail price, or for $0 upfront with monthly payment.
Samsung is making a big push for its Gear VR mobile-based virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) with its latest smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The LG G5 comes with a modular design for add-on camera, battery and other features. Instead of trying to convince people to buy the Edge merely because of its unique display, they've made a decision to pitch it as a more premium device.
This more or less corroborates an earlier rumor which suggested that Samsung would be cleaning up the software on their phones, and presumably they are trying to give users more of a stock Android experience by removing those apps from the phone.
