Rumors Claim Galaxy S7 Might Pack In A Force Touch Display

Samsung's upcoming lineup of flagship smartphones will include a pressure-sensitive display and a new, high-speed charging port, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

With the new screen sensitivity, Samsung will be borrowing from Apple's Force Touch technology, which was released on the iPhone 6s this fall. Another feature that might be included is a USB-C port which allows for fast-charging.

The reported fast-charging port is a USB Type-C, allowing a full day's charge in under 30 minutes or faster.

Recent reports have claimed that the LG G5 will feature a similar biometric feature, so it's perhaps no surprise that the company's biggest rival is also looking into the technology (no pun intended). Apple's touchscreen innovation is at a similar stage as Samsung's introduction of the "Edge" - a curved touchscreen on each vertical edge of the 2015 Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+.

Samsung is expected to show off the phones in March 2016 to get a jump on the next year's crop of competing devices. One thing is for sure that Samsung Galaxy S7 would be something fans would love to have with them. Today, the Wall Street Journal catches up to the news we posted in October and adds a few new feature details. Before we dive into Galaxy S7's specs and what not, let's first talk about the newly-surfaced report, shall we. "The Galaxy S7 will come in two sizes - a 5.2 inch model, Samsung is reputed to be readying a phablet sized 5.7" option too. The new Galaxy S6 design is already great so keeping it the same is probably a good idea. The noncurved version is also likely to have an external memory card slot, one of the people said. This new technology is said to improve photos even in low light, and also produces pictures with better colors. The new camera will be more in line with the surface of the phone; the Galaxy S6 features a camera which sticks out noticeably fro m the smartphone's body. The company is expected to announce the release in January next year, and reports from insiders say that the company is working hard on S7 to compete with Apple.
