Huawei Honor 5x Defeats Logic With Flagship Offerings For $200!

The Huawei Honor 5X was announced back in November and now the handset is coming to the U.S. this month. The new sensor design also increases the unlock speed by 100 percent.

There's no question that the affordable smartphone market has gotten extremely competitive in recent years, with devices like the Moto G and Moto E offering solid hardware for affordable prices.

The two SIM card slots are different.

While it is unquestionably a mid-range device, the Honor 5X does offer a number of features that have previously been reserved for higher-end devices. Like most OEMs these days, save for those very budget-consciosu ones and knockoffs, Huawei has gone for a metal design, in this case an all metal unibody structure. Could this unassuming smartphone from the China-based OEM be the dark horse and unsuspectingly pull the rug from underneath the feet of big boys such as the iPhone 6s Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S6? On the front, the screen glass doesn't go all the way to the sides, but it has a narrow bezel that makes it relatively comfortable for a 5.5-inch phone.

The Z1 boasts a 1-inch passive-matrix OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 128×128 pixels. The Samsung smartphone has a pixel density of 557ppi which is the best. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2GHz), clubbed with Adreno 405 GPU.

Some of the features of the device showcased in October are as follows.

At the time of the China launch, the 2GB RAM variant was priced at CNY 999 (around Rs 10,200) whereas the 3G variant is priced at CNY 1,399 (around Rs 14,300). That's the idea behind the Honor brand for Huawei. Overall, the Honor 5X feels a lot more solid and expensive than it really is. Honor states that the battery will last for 3-4 days of normal use, including daytime fitness use and sleep tracking. The iPhone 6s Plus' non-removable battery's size according to an iFixit teardown is 2,750mAh. A 3000mAh battery completes the package. The 16 GB of internal storage can be supplemented by a microSD card, up to 128 GB more. The band comes with a diamond-patterned strap in three colors – black, cream and white – and will be available on HiHonor.com/us starting 31 January at Dollars 79.99. However, it has an expandable memory option unlike the other two, which translates to an additional 128GB. Check out the source link for more details on the Honor 5X. Android 5.1.1 Lollipo p comes pre-installed here with Huawei's Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 user interface on top of it. This is a dual-SIM handset (Micro + Nano SIM), and it offers 4G LTE connectivity. Leaked info also reveals four speakers, a fingerprint scanner, and physical volume control buttons. After assigning fingerprints to actions, you can launch apps, view contact profiles and open camera functions from the lock screen.
