Entry-Level LG K4 Gets Demoed In Latest Promo Video

While the LG G4 continues to be the official flagship smartphone from LG Electronics, late last year, the South Korean consumer electronics major also launched the dual-screen V10 smartphone with premium features and a premium price-tag to go with it. While the company is widely expected to launch its fifth generation flagship smartphone at some stage this year, we still don't have any real, concrete information regarding the device as of now. While it is expected to pack in top-shelf hardware when it launches later this year, it is another, more modest smartphone range from LG which is now getting some attention in the media after the company posted a promotional video on its official YouTube channel, showing off as many as three devices from that range.

At the CES 2016 trade show earlier this month, the South Korean company had unveiled its new 'K' series smartphones to replace its 'L' series mid-rangers that never quite caught on with consumers the way the multinational consumer electronics company would have wanted them to. The K10, which was recently launched in South Korea for 200,000 Won ($164), will be the most well spec'd device in the new and revamped lineup, but LG has also showed off the K7, which will come with a comparatively more modest spec sheet. Now, however, the company's latest promotional video on YouTube has outed a third and as-yet-unannounced smartphone that will seemingly be positioned even lower than the K7. The device will be marketed as the LG K4, and while it has not been officially announced just as yet, it looks as though it's only be a matter of time before that happens.

Those wanting more details regarding LG's upcoming entry-level handset will unfortunately have to wait a while longer, as the company hasn't said anything about the hardware specs or software features of the upcoming device thus far. At this stage, all we can gather is that the K4 will come with a smaller display than either the K10 or the K7, as in evident from the video. The handset will also presumably come with a lower price-tag than its two bigger siblings. The K7 pricing remains a mystery as well, but along with the K10, it too will be available globally, including in the US, where it will apparently be marketed as the LG Tribute 5. There's no word, however, regarding LG's global plans for the K4.
