Although it has an upcoming new flagship smartphone expected to be released in the third quarter of this year, Chinese smartphone maker, OnePlus, is not about to simply let its current flagship smartphone, the OnePlus One, go quietly into the night and let its successor take the limelight all by itself.
Apparently, OnePlus One will continue to hold sway as the flagship killer that it was regarded to be last year although it will not be as potent as before since it will pass on the reputation to the OnePlus Two when it comes out in a few months time.
Still, OnePlus One will be in the market for a long time, notwithstanding its throngs of satisfied users who are proud to have a flagship handset that basically has the features of other flagship smartphones at half the price.
Indicative of how the Chinese smartphone maker wants the OnePlus One to be around in the market for a long time, an incremental update based on Cyanogen OS 12 has been released for the OnePlus One which brings fixes to several issues that have hounded the smartphone and its users for quite some time.
The incremental update is meant to fix the issues on the OnePlus One related to touchscreen sensitivity, Bluetooth connectivity particularly in several in-car systems, and MMS sending on several carriers, according to the GSM Arena.
The over-the-air (OTA) update is expected to roll out soon but those who are in a hurry can actually download the incremental update directly from the Cyanogen website and they just have to pick he YNG1TAS2I3 build.
Extended warranty
Over at India, OnePlus is giving users of OnePlus One an exciting offer to assure quick service or response to their complaints.
OnePlus has announced that it would ensure that all OnePlus One smartphones in India are serviced in a timely manner within 15 days.
If in case the company is not able to address a specific complaint or service-related issue that the customer brought up with regards to its OnePlus One smartphone within 15 days, the company will compensate the user by automatically giving three months of extended warranty.
OnePlus said in a statement that its latest move in India is the first across the consumer device landscape. It also stated unilaterally that all service-related issues on all OnePlus One smartphones in India to date that have faced delays or have been pending for longer than 15 working days in its support centers will get a three-month extension on their warranty.
To make things even sweeter for all future smartphones from the Chinese smartphone maker, the same service guarantee will apply to all its handsets, OnePlus assured.
Without OnePlus saying it, the service guarantee shall also apply to the upcoming OnePlus Two and the rumored OnePlus One Lite.
