As for the main display, the report confirms the V30 will feature an OLED display.
LG's V-series of phones were previously only available in the U.S., however, after mounting competition and drops in market share, LG is looking at establishing its V brand in the United Kingdom and Europe.
LG is prepping to launch it's upcoming flagship smartphone - LG V30 sometime soon.
LG is using plastic OLED technology (P-OLED) that would help the company provide a curved screen on the new smartphone with an ergonomic design.
This move makes a lot of sense too - Samsung has its Note and Galaxy S lines, so why can't LG have two flagship brands?
LG is expected to take the wraps off its latest flagship during the IFA Berlin trade show scheduled for September this year. By implementing optimal image algorithms gleaned from years of OLED research and development, visuals on this OLED display deliver 148 percent of the sRGB color space for digital images and 109 percent of the DCI-P3 color space for digital cinema.
LG is describing the screen as a Full Vision display, meaning it will have a taller 18:9/2:1 aspect ratio and thinner surrounding bezels like a G6.
The smartphone will also be smaller than last years V20 (which we loved) while still housing a six inch display. To achieve this, as seen in the render above, the LG logo is no longer on the front of the display as it was for the G6. This confirms that the smartphone will have a better screen-to-body ratio than the V20 that was launched in the past year. Finally, the smartphone will also incorporate Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with shatter-resistant technology for screen protection, and advanced encapsulation and pixel-scanning technology to greatly reduce the chance of burn-in associated with OLED technology. Nonetheless, according to GSM Arena, the LG V30 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 GPU, a 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of internal storage. The display will be a plastic OLED (P-OLED) which is meant to be stronger than glass (no doubt similar to the display type in the Moto Z2 Force).
