Android Coming to Nokia P Smartphones, What's Under the Hood?

The Finnish company said HMD had received the green light to proceed with production after completing all necessary transactions with its Taiwanese manufacturing partner, FIH Mobile of FoxConn Technology Group, and with USA tech giant Microsoft which had bought the unprofitable phone business from Nokia in 2014.

The Nokia P1 handset will reportedly be the flagship phone boasting some very enviable specs. An official release date will come after the WMC.

The Nokia Z2 Plus Android smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm, accompanied by 4GB of RAM as well as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in tow - and so far, the leaked results do point to more than a decent level of performance in its single-core as well as multi-core tests.

A Nokia P rumor roundup in late November, for instance, hinted at a QHD screen and a Snapdragon 820 processor as the best-case scenario, albeit a Geekbench listing for a Nokia "Pixel" device listed a far more disappointing Snapdragon 200 processor with just 1 GB of RAM. No word from HMD though as they are keeping this device a valued secret. Most of the information about these two phones is coming from leaks and the authenticity of the leaks is questionable. They might also pack a fingerprint scanner and improved internal sensors that relate to Nokia's graphene research. A full range of Nokia innovations could be coming to the Android phones.

There will be a difference in size between the phones.

Tom Coughlin to interview with Jaguars this weekThe Jaguars plan to speak with former head coach Tom Coughlin in Week 17, according to a report by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport . After joining the Giants in 2004, Coughlin coached NY to two Super Bowl victories before resigning after last season.

The device will also be waterproof with an IP67 certification, a huge perk that not many devices now sport.

On a given slide, the company's plans for 2016 include the launch of the OZO VR camera and a mention of the HMD deal.

NOKIA, once the world's top mobile phone maker, will make a comeback on the smartphone market in the first half of 2017, the company and its licensee said. Various reports are indicating that the first handsets will be released by the company in the early 2017.

2018, according to the presentation, will solidify all of these endeavors laying the foundation for a brand new future for Nokia.

The news points to HMD's ambitions to become a viable competitor to today's top smartphone companies: Samsung, which surpassed Nokia as a leader in 2012 and now holds almost one-fourth of the global smartphone market, and Apple, which controls just over 13 percent of that market.
