The latest BlackBerry flagship smartphone, the DTEK60 is now open for pre-orders in Malaysia. This is the bigger brother of the DTEK50 and it still claims to be the world's most secure Android smartphone.
Authorised retailer DirectD has listed the BlackBerry DTEK60 at RM2,338 with expected shipping by 14 November 2016. This is the official Brightstar unit that comes with 1-year warranty.
Being a flagship device, it gets a 5.5″ Quad HD AMOLED display and it is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. On-board it has 32GB of storage which is expandable via microSD up to 2TB.
For taking pictures, it gets a higher resolution 21MP f/2.0 main shooter while selfies are handled by an 8MP f/2.2 camera. The DTEK60 is juiced up by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and it supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 via USB Type-C.
The DTEK60 also comes with a fingerprint sensor at the rear for better convenience and it also supports Android Pay. Also included is a BlackBerry Convenience Key which gives you instant access to your favourite app or tasks. Out of the box, it runs on Android 6.0.1 with BlackBerry's suite of security tools.
This is BlackBerry's third Android powered device and the DTEK60 is basically a higher spec version of the DTEK50 which is officially priced at RM1,339.
