Huawei Mate S2 vs LG V20: two flagship smartphones among the first to feature Android Nougat 7.0

The latest and greatest OS yet from Android, called Nougat had just been released. As expected, all manufacturers will be racing to get their latest model shipped with this latest OS to meet the customer's demands. This is where Huawei Mate S2 and LG V20 – both flagship models will be among the first to have it right out of the box.

But as usual, Google's own range of devices such as Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will get it first. Then only third party manufacturers will be able to come out with their own flavors and customizations to further suit their devices. Since we won't be talking in-depth about Nougat OS, let's jump right in to the smartphone's details shall we?

Mate S2 is set to be released very soon, and it had been a year since Mate S was first out in the market. For those of you who can't recall what the predecessor is all about, it is revolutionary in a way that it allows you exciting new ways to connect to your smartphone.

First of all, we have Fingerprint 2.0 which comes with Smart Fingerprint Sliding where the fingerprint sensor is being used to control your smartphone. You can answer calls, take pictures, control brightness or browse pages without taking your finger off the sensor.

Next is Knuckle 2.0, and as the name suggests; it lets you can use your knuckles to crop and edit images, record screen and even open applications by drawing a letter on your screen with your knuckle. It will then open up the application instantly.

Thirdly, there's the Force Touch Technology which was first introduced by Apple. You can now unleash the true power of 3D touch whereby pressing harder will make it zoom further, preview photos in the gallery or play games better.

Finally, there's a feature that we don't normally associate with a smartphone, though; which is to weigh objects. All you need to do is place it on your phone's screen, and it will weigh it for you.

Now in its second version, Mate S2 takes the best ways to connect as above and take it up higher this time around. So here's the lowdown on what else you can expect:

Now let's turn our attention to the LG V20 which is set to be unveiled on September 6th with a release date in the next couple of weeks after its launch.

An excellent 20MP primary camera will be there so you can take excellent photos while on the move. As far as battery is concerned, the V20 has more than enough with the available 4000 mAh battery which should be able to power up the smartphone for at least a day or two.

Last but not least, is the inclusion of Bang & Olufsen sound system on the V20. This will excite audio lovers, as you can hear crystal clear sound coming out from the speakers.

    Conclusion:

Huawei Mate S2 continues the tradition of making sure you have the best personal connection with the smartphone. It has great hardware that comes with a great metal body, good camera, good battery life and dual-sim capability among other things.

Huawei Mate S2 is expected to be released in September 2016 although there's no official confirmation on the pricing just yet. But do expect it to be priced between $700-$800 USD as per last year's offerings. It is said to be available in Luxurious Gold, Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey.

Meanwhile for LG V20, it seems to have the edge which makes it a better proposition when considering which flagship to choose. Great screen with 2K resolution, a second screen to keep you updated with the latest happenings, great shock-resistant military-grade protection, excellent hardware, excellent primary camera, great battery and great audio experience is to be expected. It is also expected to be cheaper by a little bit, which is a great plus point as well.

LG V20 is expected to be release in September 2016 with an expected price of ~$650 USD.
