Samsung Galaxy Note 7 To Feature Iris Retina Scanner

We're coming close to the unveiling of Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Note 7, and the leaks for it are flowing in too.

One of the latest leaks by @onleaks, there is an image of the touch panel of the upcoming Note 7.

This image confirms that the panel is going to be a dual-curved panel. Moreover the panel has multiple cut-outs on the top, which, as Android Authority states can be for the Iris scanners. Moreover Samsung has also removed its branding from the top of the smartphone to make room for the scanners.

Iris scanners can be used to unlock your smartphone with the use of the front camera. It offers an advanced level of face detection, where it scans the eyes to make sure that they are of the smartphone owner.

Samsung had recently touted their Iris scanning in the Galaxy Tab Iris for government and enterprises in India last month scans for use in biometric identification.

Other rumours for the upcoming Note 7 include a 5.8-inch Quad HD dual-edge Super AMOLED panel, 6GB of RAM, an improved 12-megapixel camera with dual-PDAF, and a 4,000mAh battery.
