OnePlus 3 smartphone goes for auction, bids starts from Re 1

As we are getting closer to the launch of the OnePlus 3, we are learning more and more about the new flagship killer.

As of now, the top five bid amounts ranges from INR 56,775 to INR 56,660, and this is for a phone which is expected to be priced under INR 30k.

OnePlus 3, the latest flagship device set to launch on June 14 is up for auction even before the launch event on Droom.

OnePlus 3 will be available for purchase starting at 3pm (15:00) EDT, 12pm (12:00) PDT, 20:00 BST, 03:00 HKT and 12:30 IST, from OnePlus' online store.

OnePlus has partnered with Droom, a pioneering online market place, to conduct the first ever smartphone auction in India.

These are all the markets where OnePlus will ship OnePlus 3 on launch day.

Earlier this week, OnePlus held a "blind sale" for OnePlus 3, giving early adopters the option to purchase the smartphone before everyone else.

OnePlus 3 smartphones even before it goes on sale on Amazon.in on June 15 th, the company said in a statement.

The auction would go live on Thursday at 4 p.m. and would conclude on June 12.

The entire proceeds from the auction would go to the charity chosen by the OnePlus community through voting on OnePlus Forums, the company said. Whoever would bid the highest in the Auction period would get the smartphone and that too with the surprise elements attached to it. Bidders who are interested to have this smartphone are required to register on the Droom website then only they will be eligible fro the bidding process. Only recently it announced the Loop VR Headset, setting the stage "for the smartphone launch of the year, the OnePlus 3". OnePlus has also ditched its much criticized invite system for its OnePlus 3 smarpthone.
