Xiaomi recently officially launched their newest flagship device, the Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone, in India.
In a press launch event that was hosted by Xiaomi Global Vice President Hugo Barra, the Mi 5 flagship was launched with an official release date of April 6. It will be available via Xiaomi's e-commerce partners a few weeks later.
The standard edition has an internal memory of 128GB, while the second model is available in variants of 32GB or 64GB, and unfortunately, the Xiaomi hasn't added a microSD card slot for expansion.
Of all the features, the biggest highlight is the 3D Touch-inspired pressure sensitive display, which was first introduced by Apple in its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. "As for the cameras, the primary one supports 16MP and has an aperture of f/2.0, as well as features such as phase detection autofocus, OIS (4-axis), dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.8" sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size etc, while the secondary camera is 4MP with the same aperture, but it has a 1/3" sensor size and 2µm pixel size. The smartphone supports 4K video recording.
Moreover, this device is integrated with Fingerprint scanner, Infrared sensor and shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with MIUI 7 out of the box. The company says that the Quick Charge 3.0 is 20 percent faster than its predecessor, the Quick Charge 2.0. "Other connectivity options will include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and microUSB 2.0, where users can opt for silver, grey and gold shades".
