September is still months away but the rumors of the Apple iPhone 7 have been so plenty that one would think that the American tech giant would be unveiling the device anytime soon.
There are three major rumors about the next flagship smartphone of Apple. The first one is that it would be extremely thin. The second one is that it shall have a dual lens camera. And the third is that it is going to have a bigger battery.
The first and third rumors seem to contradict itself as making the iPhone thinner would mean that the battery has to be shrunk as well to fit the overall unibody. But according to speculations, Apple would make the battery bigger in different ways.
The rumor about the dual lens camera is the most contentious one as far as fans of the iPhones are concerned. It seems, however, that this rumor may have teeth on it as it was actually confirmed by reputable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The implementation of the feature is still in question as of this time and based on the leaks, there is one that showed an elongated single hole and there is also another one that showed two holes. The two-hole design will surely annoy iPhone fans especially those who have already been disappointed by the newer iPhone design, reports Slash Gear.
An extremely thin iPhone
As far as thickness is concerned, it seems that the rumors and speculations are consistent that the iPhone 7 is going to be extremely thin and shall, in fact, become the thinnest iPhone when it is finally unveiled in September.
Based on some leaks, the iPhone 7 shall be below the 7.1-millimeter thickness of the iPhone 6S and is rumored to be anywhere from 6 millimeters to 6.5 millimeters that critics are describing it as almost ridiculously thin.
At such thickness, it could mean that there would be some sacrifices including the battery and other internal parts. However, the thinner design could actually improve the smartphone's grip.
The battery may also be thinner but reports have it that it shall have a 7.04 watt-hours power, which shall be a significant improvement from the iPhone 6S' 6.61 watt-hours or the iPhone 6S Plus' 7.01 watt-hours.
The bigger question among fans is how this improved and perceived bigger battery would be made to fit on the slimmer iPhone 7 chassis.
Another talking point
One other major talking point as far as the iPhone 7 is concerned is the alleged decision of the American tech giant to do away with the headphone jack.
As early as January this year, there have been reports that Apple is indeed planning to get rid of the headphone jack and that it is developing some cord-free wireless earbuds that could possibly launch with the device, reports 9to5mac.
However, the missing headphone jack will not be something that Apple will see as a shortcoming but a new feature because it means that the company is determined to leave aging technologies behind.
Incidentally, a lot of renders have been published on the internet regarding the possible appearance of the Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, but all of them are mere speculations pending the confirmation or denial from the American tech giant.
There is just too many high-flying iPhone 7 concept designs over the past few months as the leaks continue to flow and it seems it will continue all the way until the official unveiling of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
However, the latest reports making the rounds on the internet regarding the next generation iPhones suggest that it will feature dual-camera variants, which would be a first time for Apple smartphones.
