LG says no to compromises with LG G5 flagship smartphone

LG is all set to unveil its flagship smartphone, LG G5 today.

The G5 has a "fluid metal" body and beveled glass on the front; not even antenna slits spoil its flawless lines.

Moments after saying this Cho pulled out the modular battery pack that is housed within the G5.

"What's striking is that the idea is against the main thrust of the market, which has been to integrate everything, even the battery, into the phone so nothing is removable". Instead that's now on the side of the device.

It will be available in Silver/Titan/Gold/Pink colors. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 Processor and 4GB of RAM.

LG G5's dual cameras on the back take 135-degree photos. The front camera is 8MP.

It's also compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and feature low power consumption location feature and Dolby Digital Plus technology. However, it's unfortunate that the LG G5 has decided against adoptable storage, which debuted in Marshmallow from Google. Regarding connectivity options, it has a 4G LTE network support as well as 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and a USB Type-C port. LG says the display's backlight only illuminates one small part of the overall display, which translates into the always-on section draining only 0.8 percent of the phone's battery every hour. The second friend is LG's take on virtual reality, which is a super thin and lightweight headset called the LG 360 VR. LG has nearly created one.

A stark departure from the plastic and leather LG G4, the LG G5 is now nearly entirely metal, with a removable battery slot at its bottom. The add-on has a dedicated shutter button along with a zoom wheel for both still pictures and video.

CAM Plus: This camera can be attached through the battery slot to "deliver a comfortable grip and convenient control of a DSLR". It is a 32-bit unit which is claimed to have high-fidelity sound output. The resolution of its DAC was unavailable.

LG Electronics showed off its first modular smartphone, with a B&O sound system and wide-angle lens, at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Here is a brief roundup of each accessory. There's also a 360-degree camera. LG said when connected to the LG Cam Plus, the capacity can reach up to 4,000 mAh.

Two modules in particular were highlighted by LG on Sunday. LG is cooperating with Google for this camera. It should be priced similar to the other flagships on Verizon's network right now. There's an IR transmitter on the bot which will be able to control various devices. It is still unclear though, whether it only for the drones made by the firm.

The G5 gets a unique app, the Friends manager.

"Smartphone have become boring, so is the era of smartphone is over", a LG spokesperson rhetorically asked at the company's event at the MWC.

The emphasis on smartphone as a device for play started at LG at least two years ago, said Kenneth Hong, an LG global director of communications, when LG began realizing that sales growth was slowing and that buyers needed more incentives to upgrade.

North Korea Backed Out of Peace Talks With USSouth Korea's foreign ministry summoned Qiu to make him clarify the comment, Yonhap news agency said, citing a ministry official. The global community has condemned the moves as risky provocations and has declared that North Korea must pay for its actions.
