LG releases more teasers of next smartphone G5

With the Mobile World Congress 2016 just around the corner, it shouldn't surprise you that LG has sent out invitations for an event where it is likely to launch its 2016 flagship phone, which will be the G5. It will bring a fresh new design, powerful processor, better camera, bigger battery and a fresh biometric recognition technology.

I guess we have no reason attend LG's pre-MWC conference later this month now, as the company has confirmed that it will indeed be unveiling the LG G5 at the event.

LG will unveil G5 at 14:00 CET, well ahead of Samsung.

One of the main features in the LG G5 is the battery, which is said to be sliding. While LG devices don't usually pique the interest of the mass media to the extent of Samsung and Apple's launches, the Korean company seems like it has a pretty impressive device on its hands.

The screen size is largely expected to be close to the 5.6-inch mark with a Quad HD display.

A new model number has surfaced on a Hungarian website Napidroid, which suggests that the phone will slot above the LG G4 in the pecking order.

As for the camera, it was reported that LG will be using a dual camera setup for the main rear snapper of the G5, utilizing a combo of a 16-megapixel and an 8-megapixel one. Further, the smartphone is also expected to be packing a new dual camera arrangement on the back, something that has been confirmed by multiple leaks so far. LG's standard laser autofocus sensor should be onboard the device as well.

The high-end flagship may be equipped with LG G Pay, its own digital mobile payment platform.

Apart from the modular metallic body we've mentioned before, the phone should feature Qualcomm's latest chip - the Snapdragon 820 - at least 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The Snapdragon 820 chipset will come with support for up to 600 Mbps (Cat 12) of download speeds and allow up to 150 Mbps (Cat 13) of uploads.

But police were not seeking a suspect in the shooting and the school and surrounding community faced no threat, she said .
