Samsung Set to Launch Galaxy Note 5 Duos in India Tomorrow

Samsung is finally bringing the dual-SIM version of the Galaxy Note 5 to the Indian market. Samsung India today confirmed the handset will be available through retailers starting tomorrow.

The Galaxy Note 5 dual-SIM version will be available in two storage variants like the single-SIM version – 32GB and 64GB. The 32GB model has been priced at Rs.51.400, while the 64GB variant costs Rs.57,400. Samsung had so far restrained from launching dual-SIM versions of its flagship smartphones in the Indian market, so the Galaxy Note 5 is the first flagship Samsung smartphone to launch in a dual-SIM avatar in India.

Manu Sharma, director-product marketing at Samsung India mentioned, ""In the high-end segment, we saw a very strong trend of people using dual-SIMs in our A series smartphones. Consumers want a premium device, which has a local SIM and space for another SIM," With the new Galaxy Note 5 Duos, Samsung expects to maintain its leadership in the premium smartphone segment (Rs.30,000 upwards), where it claims to have a 48.1% market share currently. Of course, the Note 5 is only the beginning, Samsung India has confirmed that it will continue to offer premium dual-SIM flagship smartphones in the future as well. Although it is still a bit too early, but we think it is very likely that Samsung may launch the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge+ in dual-SIM versions as well.

Other than added dual-SIM support, the new variant won't be any different from the single-SIM version already on sale in the country. And even though Samsung is going to announce its next flagship smartphone next month, not all of you are likely to be interested in the smaller size that the Galaxy S7 is likely to offer, which makes the Galaxy Note 5 a great buy even now. Plus, the S-Pen functionality cannot be ignored either, as it makes the Note 5 a truly unique phablet and perhaps the only option in the market for professionals who need the additional productivity features enabled by the S-Pen stylus on the phablet.
