With the arrival of 2016, news and speculations regarding the LG G5 beginning to ramp up especially since the upcoming flagship device is rumored to be released sometime this year.
Based on a recent report from Venture Beast, popular leaker Evan Blass reported that the upcoming flagship smartphone will feature a secondary display, very much like the previously released LG V10. The secondary ticker display features a 160 x 1080 screen resolution.
Blass also revealed that the LG G5 will have a "Magic Slot" feature. While its exact purpose has yet to be uncovered, it will reportedly have compatibility with a wide array of accessories including virtual reality cameras, audio amplifiers and physical keyboards.
Other LG G5 specs have already been reported on extensively. Based on these reports, it is believe that the G5 will come with a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with a 1440 x 2560 screen resolution. It will also be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
Speculations also point to the G5 featuring dual rear cameras. The dual rear camera setup includes a 16 MP camera and a 135-degree wide-angle lens. On the other side, there will be an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calls. Biometric features may include a fingerprint sensor and a retina scanner.
The forthcoming LG G5 is also rumored to come with a 2,800 mAh battery, which is smaller compared to the G4's 3,000 mAh battery. However, it should be noted that the G5 will have a slightly smaller display and a more efficient Snapdragon 820 processor.
The LG G5 is rumored to be officially launched during the first quarter of 2016. The LG G4 was released last April 2015 and its successor may possibly follow the same schedule.
