YU Yutopia Launching on 17th December, Expected Specs Include Snapdragon 810, QHD Screen and 4GB RAM [Updated]

YU has finally sent out invites for the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone – the Yutopia, which according to the rumor mills will be the most expensive YU phone yet. The invite reads out loud and clear, "The Real Beast is Coming to Town on 7-12". YU has been teasing the Yutopia for quite some time now and it has also been inadvertently comparing it with the other flagships like the OnePlus 2.

Update: Launch has been delayed to 17th December now. We have reached out to YU for the reasons.

We expect the Yutopia to come equipped with a 5-inch or 5.2-inch QHD display along with 32GB of internal storage. The Yutopia is not just expected to be the most expensive phone from the company but it will also be the first phone from YU to come with features like the 2K display. It is safe to presume a Snapdragon 810 doing the duty whilst being coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Yutopia has gone all ballistic on the imaging front as it is expected to come equipped with a 21-Megapixel primary sensor and will run the Cyanogen OS based on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop build, with Marshmallow dropping anytime soon.

The phone has already been spotted on the Geekbench listing and it has scored 1353 in single-core test while managing a 4622 in the multi core test. Rahul Sharma, the founder of Yu Televentures had made an attempt to introduce the Yutopia as "the most powerful phone on the planet". The phone was expected to launch back in October, but was delayed for unknown reasons. Since then, YU has been teasing its camera prowess on twitter and Facebook, while openly taking on the likes of OnePlus 2 for lacking NFC and QuickCharge support.

The Yutopia has leaped out and even compared itself with iPhone with a quirky "Would you like to have an Apple that doesn't last long" indirectly taking potshots at the iPhone battery backup. Now puns apart, we think that the Yutopia maybe priced well within the Rs 25,000 price bracket, making it cheaper than the OnePlus 2, which is already the cheapest smartphone with Snapdragon 810. In fact, we expect YU to announce two variants of Yutopia – a higher variant with QHD screen and 4GB RAM and a lower variant with Full HD screen and 3GB RAM.

The registrations for the phone have already been started and Yu is claiming that the  will be based on the first come first serve basis, which means that the priority will be given for the buyers who have registered first, somewhat similar to the way OnePlus 2 invite system was designed.
