OnePlus reveals battery size of forthcoming OnePlus Two in a Reddit AMAA

In a traditional OnePlus fashion, OnePlus executives – Michael, Emmanuel, Carl Pei (co-founder) and David – took to Reddit AMAA (Ask Me Almost Anything) to talk about their second flagship device, scheduled to launch on 27th July, which will also be the World's first VR launch.

David posted a picture (see above) to show how OnePlus 2 fits under an OnePlus One, suggesting a compact form factor. It'll be interesting to see how they achieve it, possibly by trimming the bezels. David further added, "Although the OnePlus 2 is smaller than the OnePlus One we've managed to pack almost 10% more juice: the OnePlus 2 will have a whooping 3300mAh battery. Camera-wise, we have a bunch of things that we believe will set the OnePlus 2 apart, but we'll leave the details for the launch."

For the software part, OnePlus 2 will run OxygenOS with slew of added features. OnePlus' Michael wrote "it's quite barebones for now, but I've been happy with the performance. Honestly, really a lot of good stuff, and a lot of thinking (and heated debating – one of the really sweet things about this company is that you actually do get to have an opinion and argue for it) has gone into it. Like we've said before, we're looking to keep it clean, close to stock with some added customization options and a few of our own little tweaks."

Michael also emphasized about the OTA update released to fix the touchscreen issues of OnePlus One and later remarked that OnePlus 2 has undergone extensive testing, hardware and software guys have put out top of things.

OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei insisted that Camera is indeed a top priority for Oneplus. He wrote "Hardware has been locked for a while. We're just about to exit design verification stage, still tweaking the last few fit & finish details but no major design changes."

Michael later revealed that Oxygen OS team is working to bring WiFi calling and OnePlus 2 will support following network bands:US GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8 FDD-LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17Europe GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/5/8 FDD-LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

The emphasis around the AMAA was how keen these guys are to deliver another flagship killer. OnePlus 2 will be launched on 27th July and is likely to feature a physical fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm Snapgradon 801SOC, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, USB Type-C port and to be priced under $450.
