MWC 2016: Hands-On With The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus

The company has priced the Lenovo Vibe K5 at $129, whereas the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus $149.

With so many flagship smartphones being released at MWC 2016 including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5, it's easy to understand why some may overlook Lenovo's latest smartphone offering.

Lenovo will offer their new smartphone in Platinum Silver or Champagne Gold, which are similar to the their other phone colors for the past few years (this isn't a complaint; Lenovo makes some pretty phones). That being said, we've already covered the main announcements of all those products, and are here to take a closer look at the Vibe K5 Plus, read on. The Lenovo Vibe K5 features a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It has a 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 616 with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone.

The bad news is that the K5 Plus runs Android 5.1, rather than Marshmallow.

The device has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for the ideal selfies.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus also features a dual-SIM setup, although the feature is only going to be available in "certain markets" so we'll have to wait and see if a UK-compatible version becomes available. Lenovo says they've also pre-loaded the devices with some productivity and social apps like SHAREit, SNAPit and Guvera Music. The device's 8.2mm thick body has an "aluminum-finish" look, which means that, from afar, it may fool some eyes into thinking it's a metal phone.
