Shortly after detailing its mid-range LG X cam and X screen smartphones yesterday, the Korean company has announced the LG Stylus 2, a "much anticipated sequel" to the G4 Stylus - or the G4 Stylo, as it was known in North America.
LG has quite a few smartphones lined up for a launch at MWC, besides the flagship LG G5 smartphone.
The LG Stylus 2's pen features a nano-coated tip, which should improve its accuracy, and there are some nifty features related to this pen. Aside from all these mentioned, LG will also be showing off the new Stylus 2 -a follow-up to the G4 Stylus. It also includes a number of software features to help users better utilize the included stylus pen. Features such as Pen Pop to toggle a menu when the stylus is removed and apps such as Pop Memo and Pop Scanner are included.
On the specification front, the LG Stylus 2 sports a 5.7-inch HD IPS in-cell touch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Other features includes a 13MP camera for photos and videos, 5MP front-facing camera, LTE connectivity, 3,000 mAh battery and ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as its operating system.
"LG Stylus 2 provides the big screen and notetaking functions of a premium large phone at the price of a mid-tier phone", said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG. It packs a 3000mAh capacity battery inside, which should allow it to deliver decent battery life. The LG Stylus 2 also comes with a Pen Keeper which will help keeping the stylus safe.
The phone importantly will likely not be a high-end device as it will have a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with just 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of storage.
The Stylus 2 has been outed ahead of its big-name stablemate to make sure the G5 gets all the media attention come its February 21st grand reveal. Have you added the LG Stylus 2 to your smartphone shortlist? The new model will weigh in at 145 grams, 20 grams less than the G4 Stylo, and is only 7.4 millimeters thick.
