Meizu has released two really compelling devices lately, the Meizu M2 Note and Meizu MX5. The M2 Note is Meizu's mid-ranger which happens to be really affordable, and yet its specifications are more than solid. The Meizu MX5, on the other hand, is the company's current flagship handset. This smartphone is made out of metal, and its specifications are definitely nothing to scoff at. We've already reviewed both of these devices, and both devices are really strong competitors, the M2 Note in the mid-range category, and the MX5 in the premium, high-end space.
That being said, you might recall there was some talk about the Meizu MX5 Pro a while back. Our source at the company has confirmed that the device exists, and that it will arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. Well, a new report surfaced in China which only confirms that fact, and it seems like the MX5 Pro will be a true beast of a smartphone, at least in the spec department. According to the report, the MX5 Pro will launch in September, and it will feature a 6-inch QHD display along with 4GB of RAM and a 4,000mAh battery. MediaTek's Helio X20 64-bit deca-core SoC is said to sport this smartphone, and you can expect this phone to be made out of metal as well. The 20.7-megapixel OIS camera (Sony's IMX230 sensor) will almost certainly going to be available on the back of this device, just like it is on the MX5. The physical home button will be available here as well, and it will double as a fingerprint scanner, much like it does on the MX5. You can also expect the MX5 Pro to pack in Hi-Fi acoustics, and to sport a really competitive price tag.
The Meizu MX5 Pro will be a direct successor to the MX4 Pro which was announced at the end of last year. This will essentially be phablet variant of the MX5 which will reportedly offer a more powerful hardware as well. We still don't know how much will it cost in the end, but you can expect it to be somewhat more expensive than the regular MX5.
